I absolutely like this Stila Double-Ended Blending Sponge! This is my first and only beauty sponge I have now, so I can’t compare it with others here. I’ve used this sponge for more than 3 months, almost everyday.

I bought my first one in July this year from beauty.com. I paid full price for $12. In the following picture, that’s my 2nd sponge which I bought from Macy’s this month. It’s on sale and 50% off – only $6 and I paid zero shipping since all beauty products ship free! Currently, it’s sold out. But I believe they will restock. I am very tempted to buy it again if it’s still $6 and shipping is free.

Pros:

• It blends foundation, BB cream and tinted moisturizer very well and quickly. You face just look naturally even toned and smooth after using this sponge.
• It is better than brush, because using brush will cause some streaks, but not with the sponge since you use tapping motion to blend. In general, it’s easier to use than brush.
• Sponge is softer than brush. If your skin is very sensitive, you will like the sponge more.
• I especially love to use it on concealer! Just use the pointy end, so easy and quick, better than finger tips.
• It doesn’t absorb too much foundation.

Cons:

• You have to wash it, each time, yes, do it for your skin. You don’t want bacteria to grow inside of your sponge, right?
• You might need some practice if you are new to blending sponge.
• It does get foundation stain a little, but it doesn’t hurt the performance.

Tips:

• To Save Time, wash the sponge right before you use it, you need to damp it anyway.
• Avoid your nails poke into the sponge during washing. I use Sephora Brush Soap(I love it!) to wash the sponge. Use the scrubbing pad only when soap on the sponge, then squeeze in the running water until the water comes out of the sponge clear.
• When you are done with washing the sponge, squeeze it with a dry towel to rid of the excess water.
• You can also use brush first, then use sponge for final quick finish.
• You can also use it for powder foundation, just to make sure the sponge is very little damped.
